4 out of 5 stars Avoid the fingerprint reader   March 16, 2006

I have had this device for nearly a year and am very pleased with it. I love having two expansion cards. The sound quality is good, but since this is my mp3 player, I would have wanted better.

Unfortunately I am one of the unlucky people for whom the fingerprint reader crashes as a result of a flash upgrade. This means that the device frequently displays error messages and crashes for me when I try to use the fingerprint reader. I also find the reader awkward and unreliable. A friend of mine swiped his finger with it, and he got into my device as well!!

As a result, I now always use the 4-digit pin to log into the device, which is really easy to use. It's a real peace of mind to have the device locked and encrypted.

The software is fine, but I would have liked Java and a better internet browser, and the wifi software works fine but can be tricky to set up. Battery life is fine and I can listen to music all day, though wifi drains it within a few hours. The rubberised case is really robust.

My advice is save yourself some money and go for the version without the fingerprint reader.

Great gadget. Packed full of features, its a doddle to set up and I had it connected to the internet through WiFi in a few minutes without even opening the manual.

Support from HP is superb.

Loads of accessories available to personalize and get the best out of your PDA.

Highly recommended!

5 out of 5 stars Very Good!!   January 2, 2006

I've bought a HP hx2750 and I'm very happy. It has WiFi for connecting to the Internet everywhere and it's fast because of the Intel processor.
One of the best things is security. With integrated finger recognition only the owner could access to data.

3 out of 5 stars useful at home and office but on the move   October 30, 2005

this piece of technology is an impressive development but only useful to save data and access data in your home or office where u already have a laptop or desktop, and its otherwise only useful to store data that you can now store in a cheaper deal on your mobile phone that is more compact.
so it doesnt even sends out attitude signals to the people around you.

useful but not for me.
