Great Buy May 26, 2009 K. M. Fuller This item is a great little buy for what I need. It works well, and is very reliable too.
The functions on it are easy to use and it has made me even more organised!!
Ipaq 3715 - great PDA April 6, 2006 Julian Richards (UK) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
Had mine about a year now - upgraded from a Sony Clie. Excellent value, the software installed without a hitch, and the sync works every time! only gripe is the sync cradle, which isn't suitable for using with a laptop - it would be great for a static desktop sync. bought myself a new usb cable rather than lug the cradle about. Pocket Word and Excel handle documents great, and the diary & address book are fine. Battery life is amazing. the media player is fine - i don't need my ipod any more!

This unit was a great help at first, since you can install softwares like MS Streets and Trips in it and lots more. But, there was an unexplanable defect in the screen calibration with my iPAQ unit. For some reason I don't know, with the screen and everything working, the touch screen (that is when you're trying to use the stylus and use your pda) has to lag soooooooooo much it's terrible. Yes, the touch screen works and it's not broken, coz if u click anywhere on the screen, it'll click the right most part of the screen, with the same y-axis value. At first, I did not pay much attention to this since it only took like 2 minutes for it to completely load up and the screen works again, but after 2 days of this i don't know what, it took like 45 minutes of lag... and u have to continue pressing the screen else the screen will go on standby mode.
Sorry to see they discontinued the 4100 February 9, 2006 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have owned the HP Ipaq 4100 for well over 2 years and I love it. I have had ALOT of trouble with my HP PC so I wasn't too enthused when my husband bought me the ipaq. I've never had any trouble with it.It works great and it's easy to setup out of the box. I call it my energizer bunny because it just keeps going and going.(I only wish my home pc would do the same)
not perfect but great little gadget anyway January 11, 2006 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
This is my first pocket pc and I've been using it since November 2005. I'm a 4th year medical student and I use it almost everday as an organiser, entertainment machine, remote control, but most importantly, as a reference tool. I've got 2 dictionaries and about 20 medical text books on it! It's very easy to use, programmes are easy to download onto it. I love the way it switches on and off instantly without any hassle of loading screens you get with normal pc/laptops. The battery usually lasts me at least 4/5 days before a recharge, and it fits neatly into my trouser pocket, ready for use. A spare SD card in the slot is ESSENTIAL. It's been said that the ipaq 3175 can't handle more than 2 programmes at once. This is not true. I can usually open around 8 programmes before it slows... and crashes. The key is to download the programmes onto the SD card, NOT the default main memory, which is 128MB and shared with it's ability to open programmes. One quickly learns to close programmes that one is not using anyway! I don't find the internet explorer on it practical enough to use frequently as the screen isn't great for it, and the camera is quite awful in poor lighting. I do occasionally use these functions though. Also, the case that comes with it is not that practical, as you have to take the damn thing off every time to use it - not quick enough when you have consultants firing questions at you left right and centre! Invest in a trendy case that opens up like a book. I've never used any other ppcs before, so I can't compare, but I'm quite content with this one and can't see myself needing to upgrade for a good few years. Recommended
