A store demonstrator that was said to show minimal wear and tear. In fact, I could detect no evidence whatsoever that it was anything other than brand new. Rapid delivery, good price, goods in superb condition, what else could one want?

Awsome PPC - took a 16 Gig class 6 SDHC no probs + got enough points with the voucher in the box on the iPaq app store to get a couple of games and a DVD ripper tailored to the small screen. (movies seem to average some 300Mb with its default iPaq settings - make sure you use the free TCPMP app to play them - windows media player just can't seem to keep up and keeps pausing).
Combined with the free and open source freda / calibre applications its also an excellent eBook reader capable of reading (non-DRM) epub, html or txt books (calibre will convert almost any non-DRM eBook to ePub). The screen (although it is very nice for a PDA) isn't as good as an e-ink screen but its good enough and the device is more portable than any of the dedicated readers (I use my Sony reader to read at home but take this around with me when I'm out and about). Was able to customise the buttons easily so the 'mail' one on the front launches freda and the side button flips pages.
Got a large collection of digital photos, 300+ eBooks and a pile of films to watch all on (half of) one 16 Gig card, as well as some games to play and the usual sync of my outlook diary / contacts. Excellent travelling companion !
Was in two minds whether to replace my old PDA (my 5 year old Asus just died) and just go for a 'smartphone' this time - glad I went for this. Its a better PDA than any smartphone I've seen and I have a small simple mobile for calls / text. Combined with Opera mobile (way better than IE) its also a decent handheld browser.
HP214 Rock Solid for GPS and complex email January 23, 2010

The HP214 is the same kit as the HP210 in the US - its screen is large, detailed, clear, bright and colourful. There is a slight stand-off outer screen that means you need to press firmly to get a response from the stylus, this is relative to earlier iPAQ models that have sensitive screens, but the HP214 does not have a flipover screen cover. A big advantage of the firm press is the HP214 can be in your shirt or side pocket without a case, e.g. as a GPS, there are no accidental inputs being made.
I've been running the excellent hx4700 for many years but needed the HP214 to run newer PDA software; I still use the hx4700 as its audio quality is very good. The audio hiss on the HP214 can be helped by running SRS WOW this changes the audio profile. The real two winners with the HP214 are its use coupled with a bluetooth GPS and a web browser such as Skyfire.
As a GPS device the HP214 is steady as a rock and gives at least 6 hours use with the screen brightness set to maximum; this is needed for daylight use. I find the HP214 + Memory-Map is great for OS 1:50,000 maps and is perfect for hiking and activities such as geocaching. I also use it in the car as a poor man's sat nav - the HP214 can be connected to your PC or laptop and your routes with maps can be transferred easily. The HP214 will also download full geocache information with photos directly from the internet.
The shipped IE with the HP214 has its limitations but if you use a PDA browser like Skyfire you can access BBC iPlayer and YouTube without any extra add on software at all. The picture quality for bedtime viewing is superb - the only downside is the bright blue LED beaming at you indicating the wifi is operating.
The HP214 takes both SD and CF cards I find it's best to stick with a large SD card as this reduces battery drain. It integrates v. well with all the MS Office stuff on your PC and will download emails and appointments. It's easier to use for sending emails than a mobile phone assuming you have wifi available and will display pdfs, photos, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project far better than any phone; you can change a document or add new formula to a spreadsheet and send it back no hassle just try that on a mobile phone!HP iPAQ 214 Pocket PC

My 114 just stopped working a few months back and I've managed without until buying the 214 a month ago.
Initially I was a little uncomfortable with the chunkier feel of the, much larger, 214, but have now settled back down with it and am very happy.
The screen is excellent and I can't think of anything to complain about.
I've been a pocket PC fan for years having bought my first around 2000. This one does pretty much everything that I want. I can write up stuff on the train or plane, do my emails, view Powerpoint, manage contacts and so on. Yes it isn't as good as a laptop or even a netbook, but it fits in my pocket and leaves my hands free.

As I was unable to get past the Alignment screen, I have no idea how good or bad this item is. I spent a lot of money on calls to the HP helpline, which seemed to be less than efficient and did not accept my problem. I have had a similar item in the past and I do know how they can and should work. Neither e-mail nor telephone advice was of any use, particularly that which required me to carry out 3 corrective functions at one time, with only 2 hands and holding my telephone in one of them ! It was suggested I request a replacement: I did not - I requested a refund.
