Pocket PCs, also known as PDAs, are devices that allow users to use computer features on the run. Traditionally pocket PCs are about the size of a traditional cell phone and often includes mobile phone capabilities. For example the Palm Centro and RIM devices are all considered PDAs or smartphones.
Pocket PC are useful for a number of reasons, but the most obvious reason they are so great is because it eliminates erroneous items in a person's pocket or bag. In the past one might have carried a notebook computer, a cell phone, a GPS device and a sound recorder all in an attempt to stay on top of everything going on in their life. Pocket PCs combine all of the features of those devices into a small, compact package that can be taken wherever the user wants.
Pocket PCs, or PDAs, encompass a full QWERTY keyboard to allow for easy e-mailing, texting and typing. The Pocket PCs on the market usually use Windows Mobile operating systems and come equipped with a plethora of free applications and add-ons to create a device that works for specific consumers. The customization options are endless and having a device that is set up to your direct specifications is absolutely amazing.
The most recent pocket PCs now offer touch screens that make them even smaller and thinner so that they can be slipped directly into the pocket of any jacket, shirt or pair of jeans. The touch screen devices have been popularized by Apple's iPhone but new touchscreen devices are hitting the market every month and are perfecting the pocket PC into the ultimate communication device.
Pocket PCs are useful for every type of consumer. They have traditionally been used by business men and women, but are now finding their way into the hands of everyone and that is only proof that the Pocket PC is the wave of the future.
